Individual and Academic Development

As Individual and Academic Development Office, we aim to create programs that will enrich the university experience of our students by developing their personal, social and intellectual skills, and instill a sense of belonging and institutional engagement.

Having established in October 2019, we launched the following programs:

  • Freshman Advising:

The peer advising program that we started in order to assist new students’ transition to our University,  lasts one year. Each new student is assigned a peer advisor from upper classes of his/her major. Please click for further information.

Students who start their education in English Preparatory Program are also assigned an academic advisor from their major program in order to engage them with their Faculty starting with their first year. Academic advisors are expected to meet at least once in a term with the new sudents.

  • Academic Progress Tracking Program:

Starting with the first semester in undergraduate programs, we aim to identify students’ whose GPA’s are below 2.00, try to understand the reasons for low academic performance and provide supportive systems in cooperation with their academic advisors.

  • prePlus Academy:

prePlus Academy, a program designed for students in the English Preparatory Program and offered in Turkish, aims to prepare students for their future studies in their undergraduate program by offering courses in coding, mathematics and personal development seminars.
