The mission of the program is to facilitate the adaptation process of our new undergraduate students to university life.
Peer advisors are sophomore, junior or senior students who are selected through an application and interview process. They receive training on the role and responsibilities expected of them before they are assigned to a group of new students from the same major. Peer advisors meet regularly with their advisees throughout the academic year, both individually and in group meetings.
It’s valuable for new students to receive guidance from someone who had similar experiences. Peer advisors assist their advisees on many issues like campus life and rules, course registrations, study skills, extra-curricular activities, etc. With the individual support of their peer advisors and the group meetings, new students gain the chance to make new friends and feel that they are not alone form their first day on campus.
