Our graduates from the Department of Plastic Arts, Painter Selin Göksel and Painter/Sculptor Mihriban Mirap, along with our faculty member Painter Refik Aziz, made a mark at the TURKIC WORLD ARTISTS FESTIVAL held in Tashkent by the Uzbekistan Academy of Arts and the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation.
The festival, attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Tashkent Olgan Bekar, the Rector of the Uzbekistan Academy of Arts Akmal Nur, the Secretary-General of Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Sultan Raev, and the Director of the Uzbekistan Art Gallery Kamola Akilova, featured artworks by Uzbek, Azerbaijani, Turkmen, Kyrgyz, Kazakh, and Turkish artists.
Ms. Mihriban Mirap's and Ms. Selin Göksel's artworks, focusing on the female body and the idea of women aging without aging, as well as Mr. Refik Aziz's historical Istanbul paintings, were showcased. On the final day of the festival, all artists donated one of their artworks to the collection of the Uzbekistan Academy of Arts Museum.
