Intergenerational Conversations

The Yeditepe University Folklore Club is back with our “Intergenerational Conversations” event!

In this installment of our series, we’re bringing the Black Sea’s boundless energy and the exuberance of horon to our campus.

Following a talk led by our esteemed professor Tahir BAKAL, where we’ll explore the historical roots of horon culture from an academic perspective, we’ll come together in our workshop under the guidance of Professors Tahir BAKAL, Mahmut TURAN, and Erol ALYEŞİL to perform the characteristic figures and traditional style of the horon.

We look forward to seeing you all at this special evening where we’ll learn the horon dances of Trabzon and Artvin-Hemşin directly from the masters and shout “Vira!” shoulder to shoulder!
