One of Nikolai Gogol’s most famous works, *The Inspector General*, is a biting satire set in a small town. Bringing to the stage the world of government officials—woven with corruption, fear, and conflicts of interest—the play unfolds around an unexpected misunderstanding.
With Gogol’s sharp language and ironic narrative, *The Inspector* is not merely a critique of its time but also a universal social mirror that remains relevant to this day.
