Kültür Sanat Yarışması - Soru 7

COMPETITION 7.QUESTION TEXT

A Symbol of What?

In the Hamlet of the seventeenth-century English playwright and poet William Shakespeare, the death scene of the character Ophelia, who makes us question the sense of trust, makes us experience loneliness and Decapitation, has been one of the most memorable scenes among the author's tragedies.

Ophelia, after all that has happened, decides to break her silence without saying goodbye to the world. Ophelia breaks this silence in a tirade in which she talks about the injustices she has experienced and analyzes the characters around her. One of the biggest reasons why the scene is etched in our minds is that Ophelia does it with symbolism. What are the symbolisms in Ophelia's tirade and what are their equivalents?

Jean-Christophe Maillot's review of "Romeo & Juliet" is with you!

Director and choreographer Jean-Christophe Maillot's “Romeo & Juliet”, which reinterprets Shakespeare's time-defying work, will meet art lovers at Zorlu PSM Turkcell Stage.

Maillot enriches the repertoire of the formation by inviting the leading choreographers of our time and at the same time providing the work of new choreographers with this exceptional structure, which is 50 dancers of the Ballets de Monte-Carlo.

These guest choreographers include Sid Dec Larbi Cherkaoui, Shen Wei, Alonzo King, Emio Greco, Chris Haring, Marco Goecke, Lucinda Childs, William Forsythe, Jiri Kylian, Karole Armitage, Maurice Béjart and even Marie Chouinard.

In 2000, Maillot created the Monaco Dance Forum, an international showcase that presents an eclectic combination of performances, exhibitions, workshops and conferences. At the same time, there are more than 80 ballets produced for the Ballet of Monte Carlo in its repertoire.

We are giving two people who answered correctly a ticket to “Romeo and Juliet” from the unique Monte Carlo Ballet on February 4th as a gift. Tickets are for one person.
