Yağmur Yörük Yılmaz Met with Art Enthusiasts in İzmir with Her Exhibition Titled 'Duvarların Dili Olsa'

Yağmur Yörük Yılmaz, a 2016 graduate of our Plastic Arts program, presented her works to art enthusiasts at her exhibition titled "Duvarların Dili Olsa" Her works represent a meeting between the traditional still life painting style and modern wall illustrations.

Hürriyet Newspaper featured an article highlighting the great acclaim received by our painter alumna’s exhibition.

The exhibition at the Historic Bıçakçı Han in Basmane will be open until May 20th. The second stop of the exhibition will be held at Commune Art Space from May 24th to June 14th.

After completing her high school education at İzmir American College with an IB diploma, Yağmur Yörük Yılmaz graduated with honors from Yeditepe University-Plastic Arts Department (Painting, Sculpture, Ceramics) in 2016, where she studied with a first-place scholarship. She also completed a minor in Industrial Design and received Contemporary Art education as part of the Guest Artist program sponsored by the New York School of Visual Arts. Yılmaz opened her first solo exhibition in Manhattan and began her Master’s program in Plastic Arts at Yeditepe University in 2017. In October 2018, she was awarded a scholarship to attend the Philadelphia Mural Arts Organization’s mural painting training program, where she completed her certificates in the specialization program "Community Murals." In 2018, she founded her own mural company and continues her work at her studio in Izmir. Collaborating with architecture offices and educational institutions on project-based mural works with her team, Yılmaz also graduated from the thesis-based Master’s program at Yaşar University’s Art and Design Department. She continues to teach Basic Art courses at Ege University’s Faculty of Fashion and Design and is pursuing her Ph.D. in Art Proficiency at Yaşar University’s Art and Design Department.
